Logging a meal

This is what Ray does most. Describe what you ate or drank — by photo, voice, or text — and he saves it to your diary with the nutrition filled in.

What you can say

  • “I had a chicken salad with olive oil.”
  • “Just had a flat white and a croissant.”
  • “Two glasses of red wine.”
  • A voice note describing your meal.
  • A photo of your plate. Add a caption like “half portion” or “no rice” to fine-tune it.

What you’ll see back

A short confirmation with the meal name and the calories Ray estimated, e.g.

Logged Chicken salad — 420 kcal, 32 g protein.

That’s it. Your diary updates immediately. If Ray isn’t confident enough to estimate, he’ll ask a quick clarifying question first instead of guessing.

Tips

  • Photos work best for plated food. For menus, packaging, or nutrition labels, just tell Ray which item or portion you actually had.
  • Add context in the caption or voice note. “Small portion”, “extra butter”, “sharing with my partner” all help.
  • Got a meal you eat often? Tap 💾 Save as preset on any confirmation so next time you can just say “my usual breakfast” and Ray logs it instantly.
